Lastly, to the right you will notice some DARK PINK words – some are larger than others - by clicking on a topic you are interested in you will see a full list of posts related to that topic.

Welcome!

A bit about me - I’m a mom, a wife, a friend, a counselor, a cook, a runner, a cheauffer, a sister, a maid, and a rough draft of obedience.  It is important for me to stop trying to be what everyone else is and start being me.  I have tried this blog thing twice before – never got in the groove.  As I worked on both of the old blogs I would find myself thinking, “I wish I could share _____.”  Which typically had something to do with parenting or discipline.  Mainly because these are the two things I know and love.  The reason I didn’t was because I didn’t want my work to interfere with my fun.  What I’ve learned is sometimes work can be fun.  So with a shove, God said, “You know this stuff. Just do it already.” and here we are.   Thanks God.  It’s like you know me or something.

I’m typically sarcastic ~ which maybe you’ve learned DOES NOT translate well in blog format ~ I’ve learned that it sometimes doesn’t translate well face-to-face either.  Oh well.

I’m also very passionate about what I do.  I am certain that my family history mixed with my education has become a deadly concoction for some, and helpful for others.  I hope you are of the latter.

I named this blog FAMILY SECRETS based on the knowledge that we all have them.  As parents we may say things that would horrify others, we could do things that get us reported to social service, we sometimes go to bed thinking “I could do better than that.”  Or maybe not. (lucky) Whatever the case, I think you’ll find something you can relate to, something to make you think, or maybe something that you will be glad you were not involved with.  Whatever the case, I hope you find something you like.  Feel free to leave comments, questions or funny parenting stories.
